Accountants should have the same options everyone else does.
Acruvia started from a simple observation about who gets to earn from their expertise, and who does not.
Why Acruvia exists
A software developer in a full-time role can take on a side project, build something for a client, and earn beyond their salary. That optionality is completely normal in tech. It is not normal in accounting.
Accounting expertise travels just as well. Someone who closes the books for one company can just as capably help a small business that cannot justify a full-time finance hire. The difference is not ability. It is that the routes to that work barely exist. What does exist runs on personal referrals, which is slow for the accountant and difficult to verify for whoever is hiring.
Acruvia is being built to make that route real: somewhere accounting professionals can be found and hired for defined pieces of work, and where a business can see exactly who it is hiring before any money moves.

Verification is the product
A marketplace with no checks would fail both sides at once. Businesses would have no way to tell a qualified accountant from a confident stranger, and qualified accountants would be pushed to compete on price against people who are not their equals. Checking credentials before anyone can bid is not a feature we added. It is the reason the thing works at all.
What Acruvia is not
Acruvia is a marketplace, not a licensed financial institution, and it does not hold anyone's funds. Payments are processed by licensed payment partners who carry the regulatory permissions for that work. Our job is matching, verification, and keeping the terms of an engagement clear to both sides.
Where we are right now
Acruvia is early. We are verifying our first accountants and preparing to open to businesses, which means we are describing what we are building rather than pointing at a track record we have not earned yet. When there are numbers worth publishing, we will publish them.
